The CEO, Dr. Leonhardt Bauer, is a former principal with McKinsey, the top management consulting firm, and has been serving pharma and healthcare clients for seven years. He has profound experience in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry and exhibits expertise in functional areas such as R&D, product and portfolio strategy, corporate finance and project management. Dr. Bauer has been a driving force in the foundation and development of McKinsey's European Healthcare Group. In this role, he led knowledge development initiatives and served clients leading in their respective industries. Projects included, e.g., the crafting of a growth strategy for a biotech unit of a Big Pharma company, the improvement of the drug development time of a Gx pharmaceutical company, and the turnaround of the German country operations of a Big Pharma company. Before joining McKinsey, Dr. Bauer received his MD from the Medical School at the University of Vienna, Austria. During this time, he was awarded the scholarship of the Academic Senate of the University of Vienna and worked as an intern at the Groote Schuur hospital, Cape Town, RSA. As a postdoc research assistant at the Institute for General and Experimental Pathology, University of Vienna, Dr. Bauer is the author of top journal publications in the field of allergy and immunology. He worked as a resident at the department of dermatology, University Clinic of Vienna.
